 Acarosan Question: I suffer dermatophagoids (dust mites) allergie, and i want to know if there is some chemical for reduce their number or kill them. I use to wash my bed clothes often, with hot water and detergent, but as everybody knows, it's very difficult to avoid the reporduction of these microorganism. i'd be gald to hear some sugestions. Thank's in advance Answer: Below is some information on a product that kills dust mites and their eggs. Acarosan is a moist powder that is sprinkled on carpeting and brushed in. Allow approx. 6 hours to dry and vacuum up. The active ingredient in Acarosan is benzyl benzoate. It is recommended that you avoid contact with this product when applying it. There have not been any reports of allergic reactions to this product that we are aware of. It has not been reported to bleach or discolor fabrics or furniture either. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Harmful if swallowed. Avoid breathing dust. Contains Benzyl Benzoate (active ingredient), Cellulose, Sodium Chloride, Isoparaffin and Silicon Dioxide.
