Nebulizer treatment times Question: I purchased a nebulizer about three years ago for my youngest son who has asthma and needs breathing treatments 3 times daily. However, lately when I attach the hose to the chamber and turn the machine, the tubing shoots of the end and I have to hold it in place for the rest of the treatment. It also seems to take longer for the breathing treatment to be delivered. Just 2cc of saline with 0.3ml of Albuterol solution takes about 10 minutes. Can you tell me what is wrong? Answer: It sounds like the nebulizer is worn out and needs to be replaced. Tubing tends to loosen up and doesn't hold as well and the treatment time increases. I would suggest changing the tubing and medicine cup first. If we may be of further assistance, please call, write or fax us.
