Air Cleaners Scales Mattress and Pillow Covers Nebulizers

Portable battery operated nebulizer
Question:
We have a PulmoAide home nebulizer which works fine at home but is not very portable. We are interested in a portable, battery operated nebulizer. Which ones are best? Would an ultrasonic nebulizer work for my son? He does not like to use the mask or mouthpiece. We do nebs when he is sleeping or resting by aiming the mist at his face and letting him inhale that way. (This is at the suggestion of the RT, pediatrician and neonatologist).

Answer:
The Pulmoaide Traveler or Dura 2000 would make a good choice of portable nebulizers. The Dura is somewhat smaller and has a built in battery but the Traveler comes with a cigarette lighter adapter and can use both 110/230 volts (with the Dura they are options). Ultrasonic nebulizers are the smallest and lightest nebulizers on the market. We always make sure to tell people considering the purchase of an ultrasonic nebulizer to let their doctor know. Ultrasonics produce a smaller particle size and in some situations that is not what may be desired. Ultrasonic nebulizers may not be quite as rugged as compressor type nebs. Either type nebulizer may be used without a mask and aiming at the face in the manner you are doing now.
