The MicroAirScreen filter would not be good at removing cigarette smoke. Cigarette smoke particles are too small to be trapped by anything less then a HEPA filter. The screen is made from woven polyethelene fibers and would be more similar to cloth than metal screen material. We tested one of these filters for 6 months and it was just as clean after 6 months as when new but it can be cleaned when necessary.
