 Large Family Room Question: We have a large family room (approximately 500 sq. ft.) in a basement. There is a fireplace in the room. We frequently get a real strong odor from the fireplace when there is no fire, especially in rainy damp weather. We were considering ordering a Enviracaire Model 64500. What would be your recommendation. Answer: Enviracaires are much better at removing particles from the air then they are at removing smells. A 64500 unit would be capable of cleaning a 500 sq. ft. area but it might not remove all the fireplace odors. If odors are a problem be sure to change your Enviracaire's charcoal filter more frequently.
